WHAT DIFFERENTIATES TAKE A BREAK MAT FROM ANY OTHER MAT AND/OR MAKING MY OWN?
Take A Break Mat is a specific and unique design. The specific selection and arrangement of questions, affirmations, colors, and shapes work together to promote mindful reflection, behavioral awareness, and positivity.
We know you could make a similar mat with sharpie pens or paint, but do you want your child breathing in paint fumes or fiddling with a mat where the marker is fading and paint is chipping off instead of focussing on what's important? We want nothing but the best for children and anyone who sits on the mat. Therefore Take A Break Mat is laser printed, has no paint odor, and is very durable. It is a mat for anyone to easily buy, roll out anywhere, and breathe in positivity, calming, and mindful reflection.
WHERE HAVE YOU TESTED IT?
We have researched and tested it at a Human Services Association in Los Angeles, in homes with parents, and in classrooms. It's been acclaimed as highly successful with outstanding positive results by both parents and teachers. We are currently starting to implement them into Pre-Schools and kindergartens as part of their curriculum, selling in stores, and excited to bring our product to you in your home.

DO YOU READ THE QUESTIONS TO THE CHILD OR HAVE HIM/HER READ THEM?
Depending on the child, some may be able to read the questions on their own or some may need the adult to lead them through any or all of the suggested questions. The adult can either sit with the child until he/she is ready to answer the questions, or let the child have their time alone on the mat until he/she is ready to answer the questions or talk. This activity is designed to promote a sense of calm, mindful reflection, and behavioral awareness to both child and adult. It also incorporates reading comprehension, problem-solving, critical thinking, and listening skills.

CAN ADULTS USE IT TOO?
Yes! Anyone can use Take A Break Mat. The questions and affirmations are geared to both child and/or adult. It can be used any time of the day to encourage reflection on daily choices, challenges, and strengths.

IS THIS GOOD FOR TEACHERS TO USE IT IN THEIR CLASSROOMS?

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU SIT ON TAKE A BREAK MAT?
Any child and/or adult can sit on it for however long they need or want!

HOW DO I WASH TAKE A BREAK MAT?
You can hand wash it with mild soap, mild detergent, non-toxic cleaning spray, or a baby wipe. Lay flat to dry.

WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS?
Take A Break Mat is made from a a multi spandex material with natural rubber base and dacron. Dacron is a type of polyester fiber and is known for being hypoallergenic, lightweight, non-absorbent, mildew-resistant, and highly durable.

IS THE MAT REVERSIBLE?
Take A Break Mat has the custom design on one side and a solid color on the other. Even though it has the custom design on one side, you can certainly turn it over and/or use both sides for anything you want-- Yoga, meditation, stretching, exercise, juggling, reading a book outside with the sun shining and wind whistling, rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time, etc. :)

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
We do not accept returns. However, if your Take A Break Mat is damaged when you recieved it, we will happily exchange it with a new mat. Please contact info@takeabreakmat.com within 7 days of recieving it with a description and picture of the damage. You will recieve an email from us with an address to send the mat to. Once we recieve it, we will ship another out to you as soon as possible.
WHAT IF MY PACKAGE IS LOST OR STOLEN?
